Markus Glanzer, MBA, MPA is a seasoned expert in contingency, disaster and crisis management with over a decade of experience in leadership, training, and operational coordination. He has served in multiple high-level roles at the Austrian Red Cross, including Deputy Federal Commander and Head of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism Department. In 2020 he founded his own company "Die Krisenplaner GmbH" to provide expertise for the private and public sectors in the field of Business Continuity Management, Risk Management, Crisis and Disaster Management, Crisis Communication, Public Relations, as well as Training and Exercises.

He has extensive international experience, having contributed to crisis and disaster management as well as capacity building inside and outside Europe. As a former Course Director for the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, he led numerous technical expert trainings between 2016 and 2020 and is involved since more than 15 years in planning and directing large-scale national and EU exercises and EU MODEX.

Markus is an active member of the Austrian Standards Institute's Committee 252 for Risk Management, BCM, and Resilience, and represents Austria in ISO's Technical Committee 262 on Risk Management.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a specialization in Disaster Management. Additionally, he completed advanced studies in financial risk analysis and control at Allensbach University.

With a strong background in emergency response and BCM, Markus continues to contribute his expertise through strategic advisory roles, training development, and operational leadership across Europe and beyond.
