Steve is an infectious disease expert and has worked for more than 40 years in the Biopharmaceutical Industry and the public sector developing and commercialising public health interventions such as vaccines and immunotherapies, including emerging diseases and agents that could be used as bioterror agents.

He has worked at CSO, CEO, CBO and Executive management and Board level in Steveral leading UK and International Biopharmaceutical Companies and Public Sector organisations for more than 30 years. He served as Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President of Strategic Investments for Emergent BioSolutions and President and CEO for the UK operation. He previously served on the Board and Executive teams of Microscience Ltd, (CSO and Chief Development Officer) Medeva PLC and the Health Protection Agency where he was Director of the Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Response at Porton Down, responsible for protecting and responding to threats such as emerging diseases, pandemics and bioterrorist threats.

Steve now works as a consultant to the biopharma industry and the Public Sector specialising in providing advice and guidance to life science Companies and Academia. He also advises the UK and the EU on emergency preparedness and response to biological and chemical weapons. Steve is particularly passionate about helping small companies and Academia translate their research through providing advice and guidance on developing products through the pre-clinical, clinical, manufacturing and commercialisation phases. To this end he now serves as a non-exec Director for Steveral UK Companies including Prokarium Ltd, (working on oral vaccines delivered using bacterial vectors), the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult and the Vaccine and Manufacturing Innovation Centre (VMIC)
