Will Oliver Emergency Response & ManagementWilliam Oliver is an experienced search and rescue professional with more than a decade of operational leadership in mountain, water, and flood rescue environments.
He serves with Mountain Rescue England and Wales as Interim Team Leader for the Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and holds several national operational and strategic roles within UK search and rescue.
Specialising in swiftwater and flood rescue, William is a qualified Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Instructor, Defra Flood Rescue Tactical Advisor, Water and Flood Incident Manager, and Rescue Boat Operator.
His experience spans complex multi-agency incidents and technical rescue operations, he is a Remote Rescue Medical Technician, an advanced search manager, and has significant emergency response coordination in challenging environments.
In addition to frontline rescue operations, William contributes to the strategic development of national water rescue capability through his work as Mountain Rescue England and Wales National Water and Flood Rescue lead and a member of the National Operations Group. He is also an Advanced Search Planning Manager and Rope Rescue Operator Instructor, supporting the training and development of rescue personnel.
William is passionate about operational preparedness, training, exercise delivery, inter-agency collaboration, and improving public safety around water and in remote environments. His work combines hands-on operational experience with leadership, instruction, and as a Gold commander, strategic resilience planning across the emergency services sector.
